During World War I a tremendous amount of patriotic propaganda postcards was printed (not only in Germany). One of the popular motifs was the defaming of the enemy with caricatures. The postcard above shows Russia, France, and England in a derogatory or ironic way as peaceful friends. The headline suggests that they are responsible (and not Germany) for the breaking out of the war.
