"Kraft durch Freude" (KdF) was the name for a National
Socialist leisure-time organization that was meant to fill especially
the labor class with enthusiasm for the new national community.
It is true that by a regular purchase of trading coupons it was
possible to go on journeys, but the dream of an own car did not
come true. Instead of "Volkswagen", as expected by the
people, the government ordered the building of "Kübelwagen"
(jeeps) for war purposes.
