Although Verner Panton designed many chairs, this model is referred as the Panton Chair. The idea to make a chair of one piece of plastic was considered as revolutionary in the 1960s as the swinging steel chair in the 1920s. Before designing the plastic chair, Panton created models made of wood and plaster as preliminary stages.
