The hat is made of black felt. The frontal and back brims are folded upright with the back brim rising far above the top of the hat. The frontal brim is formed according to the shape of the head and has a folded fabric cockade in white, blue, and red colors on the left side. The clasp is missing. The hat was seized in the battle of Belle-Alliance (Waterloo) in 1815.
