Coat for the troops of the 15th Infantry Regiment

(54 Kbytes)

Contrary to the officers' coats, the troops' coats were decorated with vivid reddish-orange lapels, measuring 57 cm in length. It can be noticed that the width of the lapels is reduced from 7,5 cm above to 6 cm below. The buttons serve only as decorations, they are sewn down to the fabric. On the right side there are two brass hooks which correspond to two eyes on the left. The under side of the cuffs is blue. Their height measures 9 cm on the front side, extending to 10 cm around the wrist. There are no pockets; the pocket flaps are simply sewn on, and their under sides are, like the lapels, of a ponceau color. All of the buttons (flat with a raised ring) are made of tin. The shoulder strap (15 x 2 cm) has a blue lining. The shoulder cord, belonging only to the guardsmen of the infantry, consists of silk and silver threads.
