DHM Services

		The German Historical Museum not only invites the public to visit temporary and permanent exhibitions, but also offers various means of scholarly research and entertainment. It is our aim to make these means available to an International Study Center of European History, which is to be established in the near future in cooperation with other cultural institutions in the center of Berlin.

• Press and television will find plentiful photographic sources and background materials in the holdings of our 12 collections. The museum is open for scholarly and private research. • The complete data of some collections is available through the Internet. Additional researches can be done through our internal database which now includes approximately 230,000 objects. Questions concerning the data research are answered by Mr. Jarmer Phone: 20304-331.



• The DHM provides links to a few hundred other museums worldwide.



• A german mailing-list with now (January 2005) 1.400 addresses from the widespread field of museum work facilitates a fast exchange of information.



• Around 181,000 books of german history and dealing with museum work in general, as well as 400,000 pictures and prints are accessible to the public in the museum library or the picture archive during the regular opening hours. • Guided tours are offered for our temporary exhibitions. Please send your inquiries to bresky@dhm.de.

• The museum takes charge of private collections, estates, etc. of political or historical interest and prepares them for scientific use.
