Danke, Grazie, Aitäh, Dziękuję – The Grand Finale

Yesterday marked the end of our four-month presentation of The Desire for Freedom in Berlin. The artworks are already being packed for transport. The opening in the Palazzo Reale in Milan will happen in one month. Yesterday we held a closing event for The Desire for Freedom, although it is not common practice at the DHM.

One last edition of Café Liberté, our Sunday audience discussion, at least one last round through the exhibition, t-shirts from 3Freunde, a song by the Hans-Beimler-Chor, and a conversation with the Ukrainian artist Nikita Kadan were on the program. Iréne Weidmann from the Council of Europe and Barbara Gessler from the European Commission celebrated with us, as did many staff members, friends, and visitors.

Our curator Monika Flacke was surprised at the end with flowers and sang a hymn for us in return, which we would also like to share with you.

We, too, would like to thank all of our visitors, colleagues, and external partners for the wonderful cooperation here in Berlin. We are also quite happy that the project is continuing.

Ci vediamo tutti a Milano!

(And then to Tallinn. And afterwards to Krakow.)
