John Heartfield
War and Corpses – The Last Hope of the Rich, 1932

John Heartfield reacted to commentaries in Nazi papers attempting to stir up hatred against the victorious powers of World War I by making collages for the magazine A-I-Z. Heartfield saw the representatives of the economic elite as warmongers and portrayed them as profiteers of a coming war: a snarling hyena bearing a top hat and an order of merit.
