![]() Heinrich Heine am Gängelband der Rahel von Varnhagen (1969) |
In the late 1960s and early 1970s Prechtl participated in the production of two television films. In 1969 he created 40 drawings for Heinz Dieckmann's film Heinrich Heine, der unbequeme Dichter (Heinrich Heine, the Inconvenient Poet). In 1970 Prechtl and his work were the subject of a documentary based on the artist's journey to Amsterdam in the footsteps of Albrecht Dürer. For the film on Heine, Prechtl prepared colour drawings of the protagonists, although the film itself was made in black and white. The most interesting film in which Prechtl features was probably Attentate - Die Reflektierung politischer Ereignisse in der gegenwärtigen Kunst (Assassinations - How Contemporary Art Reflects Political Events).
