Opening Hours

The German Historical Museum has decided to open the temporary exhibition "Hannah Arendt and the Twentieth Century" to visitors in the Pei building from 11 May 2020 as a first step. The permanent exhibition in the Zeughaus will remain closed until further notice.

Important information about visiting the exhibition

Please note the following before visiting the exhibition:

  • The generally applicable rules of distance and hygiene apply throughout the building and in the exhibition rooms.
  • Wearing a mouth and nose protection is mandatory.
  • All areas and elements of the exhibition will continuously be cleaned. We will furthermore provide disinfectant wipes for the hearing elements and media stations. For your own safety, we recommend that you also bring gloves.
  • Please remain at home if you show signs of illness or have symptoms of a respiratory disease. You should also not leave the house if in the last two weeks you have been in contact with anyone infected with Covid-19.
  • Audio guides are available and are thoroughly disinfected after each use. It is recommended to bring your own headphones (3.5 mm).
  • Cloakrooms are only available to a limited extent. Please avoid carrying rucksacks and bags larger than 30 x 20 x 10 cm if possible.
  • Until further notice we recommend to purchase tickets for the exhibition online from 5 May 2020.
  • The DHM will make every effort to ensure that admission is as smooth as possible, but asks for your understanding in case there are waiting times.
  • Guided tours and group offers will not take place.
  • Our digital offers are still available for you.
