LeMO

The Living Museum Online (LeMO)

LeMO is a passage through German history from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. It combines informative texts with objects from the museum as well as visual and sound documents, thus conveying historical knowledge as an overview and in its various contexts. In a “Collective Memory” it is possible to tie in one’s own eyewitness reports and personal histories with the LeMO contents.

LeMO is a cooperative project between the following institutions:

  • Deutsches Historisches Museum
  • The foundation Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
  • The German Federal Archive

The treatment of the period up to the end of the Second World War is carried out by the German Historical Museum. The foundation Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland is responsible for the presentation of contemporary history after the 8th of May 1945.
