The tour through all exhibition rooms offers an overview of the life and work of Richard Wagner against the background of the 19th century. Selected exhibition objects are used to discuss how both the private person and the artist Wagner reacted to the developments of his time and the resulting emotional states - to the 1848 revolution and the nationalism emerging in the German-speaking world, but also to the increasingly assertive capitalism and anti-Semitism in society. During the tour there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
