    The Sea as a Resource

The Deutsches Historisches Museum changes perspective with the exhibition “Europe and the Sea” – and takes a new look at the history of the continent from the viewpoint of the sea. The exhibition shows how fundamentally the sea has promoted and shaped the development of Europe, from antiquity to the present day. Thomas Eisentraut, curator of the exhibition explains why the sea was and still is an important store of natural resources for Europeans.
