Open Your Ears!
Inclusive Cinema ... With Audio Description

Open your ears! With this exclamation, an inclusive film weekend was launched last year, which presented accessible versions of films and asked about the conditions for successful inclusion in the cinema in a panel discussion. All films could be experienced as audio films. The audio description produced for blind and visually impaired people, which describes the images of the films in acoustic form, could be heard by the entire cinema audience in the auditorium and the film could be experienced with the ears. This was a special experience for all visitors! The Deutsche Kinemathek and the Zeughauskino, which are committed to cultural participation, are continuing their collaboration in April and will regularly show audio films in the cinema in future.
For the upcoming audio film program, the focus will be on “Berlin films”, i.e. feature films that show our city in the past and present and tell of Berlin and its inhabitants. Open your ears! We listen to the voices and sounds of the city!
We are happy to offer visitors with visual impairments support in preparing for and attending the movie. We will reserve seats for you and your companion and inform you in advance about the local conditions in the Pei building of the Deutsches Historisches Museum. We will also be happy to support you once you arrive at the venue.
The series Ohren auf! Inclusive cinema ... with audio film takes place in cooperation with the General Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired Berlin.
