In our series Collect Films! we invite small archives and collections to the Zeughauskino to give us an insight into their holdings. In November, Stephan Ahrens and Alexander Schultz will be our guests and present the collection of the Institut für Medienwissenschaften at the University of Paderborn, which specialises in 16mm films. In addition to the archive of German experimental and avant-garde films by women and amateur films, there is also an extensive collection of educational films that were shown at non-commercial screening venues. Annette Brauerhoch laid the foundation for the collection when she became the first female professor of film studies at Universität Paderborn in 2001. She thus created a film-specific environment for teaching and research. The diversity of the growing collection is demonstrated by three programmes ranging from the silent film era to socially committed documentaries from the 1970s and 1980s and the work of American film rebel Cathy Joritz. We would like to thank Alexandra Simopoulos for her help with the organisation. (Stephan Ahrens/Philipp Stiasny)
