Berlin.document - under this title, the Zeughauskino presents a monthly programme of documentary films of Berlin in chronological order. The programmes tell a mosaic-like story of the city as it has been documented in often unknown footages shot on the fringes of the commercial film industry.

With short films about the Islamic Museum in Berlin, the Bode Museum and the Museum of German History, which today houses the German Historical Museum, Berlin.Dokument invites you to visit three museums in East Berlin in the 1980s in April. Three feature-length documentary films will follow in May, June and July: Gerd Conradt's stories about neighbourhood redevelopment Der Videopionier, Annik Leroy's search for traces in West Berlin In der Dämmerstunde and Ingo Kratisch's and Jutta Sartory's cinematic Berlin poem O logischer Garten.

Berlin.document takes place with the kind support of the Stiftung Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv. The curator of the series is the author and film historian Jeanpaul Goergen, who was awarded the Kinematheksverbund's honorary prize for services to film culture and film heritage in 2023 for his Berlin programmes, among other things.
