The guided tour through the exhibition focuses on the scenes depicted in the painting on the one hand and offers a playful introduction to topics from the past on the other. With picture puzzles, games, pantomime and other interactive activities, pupils are encouraged to explore the role of outfits, household objects, tools, music, work and other everyday topics. The focus is on the time 500 years ago, legacies from back then and things that still influence pupils' daily lives today. In a workshop room, they can also learn about the tasks of a restorer and draw their ideas for an ideal landscape today.

The tour guides adapt their language to the pupils' wishes. Individual requests for the tour, which is based on the Berlin framework curriculum, can be discussed when registering. The class will be divided if there are 20 or more pupils. After a common introduction, the first group starts in the room with the painting and the second group in the workshop room. After half the time, the groups change. At the end, the newly acquired knowledge is discussed together in front of the original painting.
