The guided tour through the exhibition focuses on the scenes depicted in the painting on the one hand and offers a playful introduction to topics of the past on the other. A rally focuses on questions about professions, trade, entertainment, clothing, etc. The pupils are supported in their self-discovery learning through hands-on stations, texts, films and audio stations. The aim is to take a closer look at the stories told by the exhibition objects and how these have an impact on the pupils' lives. Examples include idioms, words, outfits, buildings and more. Why are objects kept and others not? The work of restorers is presented in the workshop room and the pupils can get creative themselves.

The tour aims to support independent learning. The class is divided if there are 20 or more pupils. After a joint introduction, the first group starts in the room with the painting and the second group in the workshop room. After half the time, the groups change.

Language: German and English

Duration: 90 minutes plus arrival and departure (120 minutes in total)
