Historical objects can tell many stories. Through their physical form, they bear witness to their use, manufacture, and cultural-historical processes: Who owned them? What do they reveal about historical events? Why did the Deutsches Historisches Museum collect them? This interactive tour explores selected objects from the museum’s collection, such as a samurai armor, a so-called “Willkomm” cup from the 16th century, or Biedermeier-style furnishings. The tour examines questions regarding both the history of the collection and its preservation and research. The tour offers an opportunity for discussion about the exhibition concept, design, presentation formats, and educational methods.
