How was the violent National Socialist rule in occupied Europe treated in the first exhibitions immediately after the war? The audio guide in German and English offers around an hour-long tour through six exhibition projects that were staged between 1945 and 1948 in various European cities – the metropolises London, Paris and Warsaw as well as places like Liberec in Czechoslovakia and the Displaced Persons camp in Bergen-Belsen – giving an overview of the objects and reconstructed displays in those exhibitions.
The audio tour provides insight into the respective historical contexts and varied forms of remembrance. Interviews with members of the DHM team throw light on the concept and design of the current exhibition and provide additional information about the main objects on display.
