Object Database

The DHM has had a database to catalogue and manage its holdings since 1991. An online version of the object database allows users to search for information on all objects accessible to the public.

The DHM’s object database acts as the central reference file and repository of knowledge about the museum’s collections. At the same time, it serves as a “showcase” and research resource for the interested public: here, within one of Germany’s most diverse historical museum collections, you can find objects and documents relating to numerous topics, events and figures in German and European history, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
