Film Archive

Nearly 900 prints of different film types and genres are stored in the film archive of the German Historical Museum. The task of collecting focuses primarily on depictions of German history. The prints include German and international productions from the 1910s to the present. Most of the films are 35 mm or 16 mm copies in the original language.

Film prints from the collection are regularly screened in the Zeughauskino (cinema). The archive also offers parts of the collection to other cinemas as release prints.

The collection continues to be expanded through purchases and donations. For further information, please visit our collection pages.
